"There is something inherently satisfying creating visual and mental connections through visual art with the purpose of communicating a message. As a successful commercial designer, I enjoyed this to the fullest. A visual message sets the tone – or, to remove tone’s fancy wrapping, a visual message sets the mood.
The bombardment of visuals we have seen in some of the daily media is a good example of setting the public’s mood. The only problem is that the message or mood they’re delivering isn’t always the right one, delivering fear, anger, or apathy, instead of sympathy.
